How We View Fundraising at Quinteto Latino
Quinteto Latino recognizes that we are working within a racist, white supremacist system and that philanthropy has been built for generations on the backs of BIPOC communities and people. We practice Community-Centric Fundraising, set of principles that guide how we build community, increase capacity, and foster collaboration.
In our donor relationships, we are guided by the following Core Values:
Fundraising must be grounded in race, equity, and social justice.
All who engage in strengthening the community are equally valued, whether volunteer, staff, donor, or board member.
We recognize that healing and liberation requires a commitment to economic justice.
We see the work of social justice as holistic and transformative, which benefits everyone. Everyone who helps benefits from engaging in the work of social justice.
