How We View Fundraising at Quinteto Latino

Quinteto Latino recognizes that we are working within a racist, white supremacist system and that philanthropy has been built for generations on the backs of BIPOC communities and people. We practice Community-Centric Fundraising, set of principles that guide how we build community, increase capacity, and foster collaboration.

In our donor relationships, we are guided by the following Core Values:

  • Fundraising must be grounded in race, equity, and social justice.

  • All who engage in strengthening the community are equally valued, whether volunteer, staff, donor, or board member.

  • We recognize that healing and liberation requires a commitment to economic justice.

  • We see the work of social justice as holistic and transformative, which benefits everyone. Everyone who helps benefits from engaging in the work of social justice.
